I make this dipping sauce for dumplings ( either meat or vegetarian) with Te Mata Just Fig Syrup as the main ingredient. It dresses them up beautifully.
From our local Asian supermarket I buy a large packet of Korean dumplings and store them in the freezer. When we need a quick meal I take out as many as we can eat at one sitting and briefly steam them. So effortless!
3 tablespoons of Te Mata Just Fig Syrup
2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
2 tablespoons of fish sauce
1/2 clove of garlic (smashed)
some sliced red chilli/ a drop or two of Hot Samoan Boys chilli sauce
a squeeze of lime juice
You can vary the quantities to balance the flavours to your taste.
